Why does an undergraduate application need to 'stand out'?
The tens of thousands of undergraduate applications received by the U.S. institutions can bring down the acceptance rates to as low as 1%. The majority of U.S. universities apply a holistic admissions process and is based on a number of factors: grades, standardized test scores, activities, interests, accomplishments, essays and letters of recommendation.

The key is to plan ahead and start in the ninth grade to build a foundation and a competitive advantage at the admissions stage and later on.
